The National Wilderness Preservation System has a fundamental mandate to preserve wilderness character. While the Bureau of Land Management, Fish and Wildlife Service, Forest Service, and National Park Service share many similarities in their approaches to wilderness stewardship, differences exist. Access policy documents, regulations, strategic plans, manuals, and other resources specific to each agency.
